2008 MASPWP of the Year Award for Sandi Vito
Sandi Vito has received so many awards for her excellent works as Acting Secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. One such award is the 2008 Manufacturers’ Association of South Central Pennsylvania Workforce Professional of the Year Award. This is given to recognize the exceptional involvement of a person dedicated to the triumph of locals and commerce especially in the manufacturing sector and to promote a custom of inclusion and mutual aid among business, education, government and the community.
Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell congratulated Sandi Vito for the award she received. He cited that she has been instrumental in reinventing their workforce development efforts in their state. Quoting Governor Rendell further, he said, “her expertise and dedication are helping make Pennsylvania’s industry-led workforce development strategy a national leader in the country.
In spite of the honor given her, Sandi Vito consider it a privilege to work with employers, employees, educators and professionals who are likewise committed to the improvement of Pennsylvania’s workforce through education and training opportunities that would help individuals meet their personal and professional goals. When government leaders and their cabinets work together for the welfare of the people, much can be achieved. This had been very evident in Pennsylvania where they have improved the value of society thus inviting more investors which equaled to more business and employment opportunities; this in turn would bring more income to the government by way of taxes and income from business licenses.
